The Silent Hill 2 Remake is finally here! It’s been highly-anticipated ever since its announcement, and the good news is that it more than delivers an exceptional experience worthy of the original. Here you will find the early access release date and time countdown for when the Silent Hill 2 Remake will come out on PC Steam and PS5, along with pre-order bonuses and how to play early.

SH2 is a timed exclusive for PS5 on console, so it should find its way onto Xbox in the future. Bloober Team are the developer responsible for bringing the beloved horror classic back to life, and reviews have been extremely positive as it currently boasts an 87 on Metacritic.

It doesn’t fully launch for a few more days, but the Silent Hill 2 Remake early access release date and time countdown is nearly over if you’re willing to pay slightly more for the Deluxe edition.

The early access release date for the Silent Hill 2 Remake is October 6th. This is confirmed on the series’ official X account.

If you’d rather wait for the Standard edition to launch, the game will come out on October 8th. It is exclusive to PS5 for PlayStation, and on PC you can play through Steam. You also have the option of playing on the Steam Deck.

Unfortunately, it is not coming out day one on Xbox because of the timed exclusivity with PS5 for console. It is a one year exclusivity with PlayStation, so the earliest SH2 can land on Xbox is October 8th, 2025.

When does Silent Hill 2 Remake early access come out?

The release time for when the Silent Hill 2 Remake early access will come out on PC for Steam is 9PM PT on October 5th, and 12AM ET/5AM BST on October 6th.

As for PS5, the early access release time is 9PM PT on October 5th, and 12AMET/12AM BST on October 6th. All of these launch hours have been confirmed by Bloomber Team in a shared launch map.

Of course, for the Standard edition, the above times will apply but for October 7th/8th.

How to play SH2 early access

Whether you plan to play on PS5 or PC, you need to pre-order the Digital Deluxe edition to play as soon as possible. The Digital Deluxe edition costs £69.99, meanwhile, the Standard edition is priced at £59.99 (prices via PSN store).

Ultimately, it’s an incentive for fans to pay an extra £10. However, it’s not only the opportunity to step into the fog as soon as possible that comes with the Deluxe edition.
